Protection Partnership Program – Police Academy

The Mission of the Protection Partnership Program (P3) is to enhance the readiness of the Massachusetts National Guard while increasing public safety throughout the Commonwealth. The Police Protection Partnership Program is sponsored and operated by the 211th Military Police Battalion working in conjuctions with the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) and the Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC).

Our goal is to recruit, train, and retain qualified enlisted and commissioned Soldiers and Airmen by providing militarily synergistic civilian police career opportunities. Upon successful completion of our certified MPTC police academy, these highly qualified members of the National Guard will be eligible to become civilian Massachusetts Police Officers. For graduates who wish to become Police Officers outside of Massachusetts, many other surrounding states recognize this training as their law enforcement equivalent.

As a member of the Military Police Corps or Security Forces Squadron, you can apply to attend one of our police academies. Each course is designed to credential Soldiers and Airmen as civilian police officers. At this time, we are only accepting Soldiers and Airmen who have completed the Army Military Police Advanced Individual Training or Air Force Security Forces Academy.

We have partnered with the Worcester Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police to train over 200 Soldiers and Airmen, all of whom found meaningful employment opportunities upon graduation. In fact, over half our graduates are hired by a municipal police department BEFORE they graduate the academy!
